Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.)
Mission
The M.R.E. degree is an academic program designed primarily for those who wish to serve in either pastoral or non-pastoral positions. The emphasis of this program is “teaching ministry” in local churches. This degree is a 63-credit hour program.
The M.R.E. may be a terminal degree, or serve as preparation for the Master of Divinity.
Objectives
The M.R.E. programs will enable the students:
1. To be equipped with sound biblical and theological knowledge.
2. To effectively share, teach, or preach the word of truth whenever the opportunity arrives.
3. To be equipped with Christ-like character and integrity so that they may be respectable men and women of God in their communities.
4. To actively participate in teaching ministries in local churches, such as Sunday schools, youth ministry, children ministry, etc.
5. To train laymen to be able to teach the Bible in their homes, churches, and work places.
6. To take the name of Jesus Christ our Lord to peoples who do not share same language, tradition, diet, and worldview with us.
